Stewardship and proxy voting
Fidelity’s core principles and history of helping to strengthen our customers’ financial well-being sit at the heart of our stewardship activities.
Overview
Fidelity sees stewardship as a critical tool for addressing material risks and opportunities in portfolios to help generate long-term value for our customers.
Investment stewardship
Stewardship involves an active approach to ownership: engaging with issuers on topics of strategic importance and voting on behalf of customers consistent with their long-term financial interests.

Our approach
Fidelity votes on behalf of the Fidelity Funds according to the Fidelity Proxy Voting Guidelines. We generally evaluate proposals on economic merit and support those that are reasonably likely to enhance long-term shareholder returns.
Proxy voting results
Mutual funds file their annual proxy voting results with the SEC by August 31 each year, covering the 12-month period ending June 30.
